Landmark Protection Plans

John V. Dinan Associates has prepared numerous landmark protection plans that have been submitted to and approved by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission and Department of Buildings. A landmark protection plan is usually required if construction is taking place within a landmark district or there are landmark structures adjacent to the construction site. The New York City Department of Buildings outlines the requirements in the Technical Policy and Procedure Notice 10/88 (TPPN 10/88). For additional information including landmark districts and structures visit http://www.nyc.gov/html/lpc/html/home/home.shtml

When John V. Dinan Associates prepares a landmark protection plan we make sure that it follows the requirements set forth in the TPPN 10/88, while also making sure that the plan is practical for the client. The landmark protection plan contains information on all of the steps that should be taken to avoid damage to the historic structures. Depending on the project, some of the protection measures include pre construction surveys, post demolition surveys, telltale monitoring, vibration monitoring plans, roof protection plans, etc. These procedures are outlined in an organized plan according to the construction timeline of the specific project. If we have all the required information pertaining to the project, we can prepare a landmark protection plan in 1-2 days.
